It seems like starting the day after Christmas, everyone is in countdown mode and ready to bring in the new year. On social media, the “new year, new me” messages and memes are already running rampant, and while I would never knock anyone’s mindset, mine is a little different. This year, I’m going into 2016 with a new year, same me mantra. I want to continue to be well dressed, well educated, and well traveled in 2016. My style mantra is quality over quantity and I want to focus on investing in timeless, classic pieces to add to my wardrobe instead of a bunch of random stuff that I will likely only wear once. I want to complete all the necessary courses that I need to finish my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy (which shouldn’t be too hard since I only have two left), start studying for my cumulative exam, and begin my internship. I want to continue to see the world and travel to at least one continent that I haven’t been to yet (Africa and/or Australia, anyone??).
Overall, I want to build on everything that I accomplished in 2015. I want to continue to blog and focus on establishing LiveLifeWell as both a life/style blog and a brand. I always say the best is yet to come, and in 2016, I want to be the best me I can be. Arguable most importantly, I want to continue to find new ways to love the same man and to focus on the goals that my husband and I have set for ourselves as a couple and as individuals. I want us both to continue to follow our dreams.
This weekend, my husband played in his last basketball game of 2015. Before the game even begun, I had a feeling that he would go out with a bang and he did just that. I love supporting my husband as he plays the game that he loves and it’s one of the things that I look forward to doing in 2016 as he continues to develop and flourish on the court. Here’s what I wore to my husband’s last game of the year:
